Confessions of a Beachaholic Homeschooler

 Photobucket
So, it may or may not be afternoon, and I may or may not still be in my night clothes. Of course, though, I changed out of them for a bit, to frolic in the rain. Please, I'm not barbaric.  My hair is admittedly a train-wreck since I haven't bathed it since the last time I went to the beach (which I will not tell you when that was). And though I've responded to two letters, I haven't done any schoolwork (sorry mum).

The reason for my insanity? Well, to be honest, it's pretty normal. But I do have a good excuse (which is completely not normal).  I have been cast into a dreamy state of reverie since Spring Break. My mind keeps on falling back on the crazy, adventure filled days like one falls back on chocolate when they are craving.

Here is a quick recap of my spring break in pictures (mostly, but I'm sure you know I have troubling shutting up so they'll definitely be words, too).

Friday, May 23rd, 2012: Our friends from Oahu made a trip over here.

Rabbit holes and strange shoes... Our hiking adventure

"Adventure is out there!"
Saturday: We went to a black sand beach, then walked over to the cave.

We went to a underground cave, that has icy cold, fresh water.  Nuff' said.

Sunday: All seven of us girls went adventuring around the island.
Photobucket
Jumping off rocks (yes, I know, my hair looks strange to say the least)

We then traveled to Pololu Valley

Monday: Thrift shopping, Antique shopping, and Girls' night out
Photobucket
The "herd" of girls at the Antique Shop... The guy who works there actually asked if we wanted a picture. He probably thought our squeezing seven girls into one small table was funny.

A sad farewell as our friends were off back to Oahu
Wednesday: Hiking trip with more friends. Sadly no pictures, because although I was intelligent enough to bring the camera in the car, I forgot to bring it out.

Thursday: Beach day with the family.

Our lovely, deserted beach, Kua Bay
Friday: Tea party/surprise party for another dear friend.

Saturday: Two more beach sessions

So, even though I sit here, makeup slightly smudged because I fell asleep before I got to wash it off, nightclothes slightly damp from the residue of my rainy escapade, hair now a wet mess, I am happy. Gloriously happy. Oh, it's good to be homeschooled, have wonderful friends, live by the ocean.

Oh, it's good to be alive in God.

P.S. Sorry for the unendurable length of this post. Maybe it makes up for the lateness. I'll blame it on late nights and Owl City.
P.S. #2 This post is dedicated to Lidja who so kindly asked me for another post.

  1. It's ridiculously late, but I promise, I'm working on a scholarship paper right now, so I have an excuse. Muhaha. First off, I just want to say, finally. Finally. Finally that post I've been waiting for, for forever. Now that I have that out of my system, I want to say: wow.

Talk about an awesome past few weeks. I love every single one of your photographs; and your friends from O'ahu are goodness-sakes beautiful! ;) It looks like you all had a wonderful time!

All your pictures of the beach are making me jealous. I really need to drop by the coast sometime soon. Oh, and your pictures of our tea part are loverly. It was sort of, um, the best tea party ever. I think I should stop now before I sound like a gushing lunatic.

    Love you bunches,
    Me

    1. Hmm... Well, whatever. I can take forever. I'm lazy. You're gonna have to deal with it, m'dear. (don't I sound like a rude man?)

Um... Come to the beach with me! I'm serious, darling, you need to get a few crazy beach stories before you're off to the white mainland, where people shall be asking you about your native adventures.

Oh, and the next birthday party? It's gonna be awesome!

I love you most (for you my Tangled quotes come out),

  2. Dude, this has to be one of my favoritest blog posts ever. I mean, seriously. I LOVE THE PICTURES AND I LOVE YOUR WRITING.
The ocean pictures made me want to just scream because I love it so much.
My sister, brother and I always do funny faces for pics too! xD It's the best.
Gosh, I wish I had time to write a longer comment! Amazing post!! So glad you had an awesome spring break!
    God bless!!

    2. Aww... Thanks. I'm glad you liked my comment (that sounds so strange... like my comment is my child and I'm a proud parent..?) And another ocean enthusiast? So cool...

  3. Yay! New post! Now I finally get to return your comments =)

You and your sisters are beautiful, and that antique shop looks amazing. And Hawaii is gorgeous. But duh. Everyone knows that. If I was going to Hawaii, I'd want to visit someone like you, and just spend a couple weeks there instead of going on a cruise and doing all kinds of touristy things. I'd rather "live" somewhere for a few weeks than be a tourist. Speaking of which, you must tell me more about this P.E.I/craigslist thing! Lol! =)
The ocean is bee-yoo-tiful. I don't swim very good, so it would probably scare me at first. But it's pretty lovely. I could probably get used to it. =)

Hopefully that all sorta made sense and sounded intelligent :p Lol!

    1. Yes... definitely, come here, stay at our guest house... read all our books. ;) In fact, I should just have a blog party where all the awesome bloggers come here and we cruise the island. ;)

And the P.E.I. thing... Yeah, I was feeling a little crazy. But on the bright side, I found this beyond cute house in Charlottetown. And it was pretty cheap. ;)

      Love,

  4. What a refreshing sight it was to my sore eyes to see....a post from Ke'alohi!!! I totally dig picture posts as I'm not much for reading [as you well know]. I'm glad to finally see your friends....WOW! FYI That guy wasn't just trying to be helpful, he wanted an excuse to talk to a troop of gorgeous gals! Can't wait to see the rest of the party pictures.

    1. Haha, yes, I know all about your abhorrence of lots of words. ;)

And I definitely hope that's not the cast since he was older. He seemed like a pleasantly plump old gentleman.
I totally forgot about those. I'll try to get them up soon.

    1. Akela, the eldest of our friends from Oahu. She's the crazy, adventurous one.

Haha, I don't know if I should say thank you to the Incredibles comment or not.;)

I'm not sure what camera it is, but I think it's a fairly standard underwater camera. She is really good at it, though.

I know, I know, I posted!!! Now you don't have to see that blinking Beach Chronicles anymore, eh?

      Love,

  6. YES! Finally a post so that I can stalk you back hehe :) First off, these incredible photos makes me so jealous of the fun you've had in the past few weeks. It sounds like heaven to me...good friends, the beach, beautiful fields, underwater caves...sounds like something out of a fairy tale! And your writing, haha, I actually snickered a few times reading this. If only more people our age had such finesse to express themselves with both clarity and humour. I actually need to jump back into the surf soon...as soon as Sydney's weather stops acting bipolar :)
    xx,
    Anh
p.s. Post more. I need more opportunities to stalk hehe

    1. Yeah... It was pretty heavenly. Now I'm back to mundane life... phooey. Aww... Thanks ever so (I've been saying aww... alot... Weird huh?). Hey, I just wanted to let you know. You totally hooked me on that song. I always forget it's name, but you the one, "I've been out on the ocean, sailing along, traveling nowhere." It is AWESOME!!!

      Love,
      Rebekah

  7. I just love this post! It sounds like you had an amazing time! :) Aww, I am so jealous that you got to jump off cliffs into the water. I did that when I was really little, and ever since wanted to go again! :)) Aww, tea parties! Wait, so is that a camera tea cup? I.need.it. Have I mentioned, you are absolutely gorgeous? Well you are! So I must ask, how many siblings do you have? :))) Lovely post, and wonderful pictures!

Thank you so much for your comment! I seriously laughed out loud at the being around healthy people thing. Haha. :))))

    1. Thank you. We did indeed! So, you simply must make a visit over here to Hawaii and jump of cliffs into the ocean. The feeling is most exhilarating! Haha, next time I see a teapot in the shape of a camera, I'll send it your way. Aww... thanks.

And for the siblings... there is blinking six of us! Pretty crazy, eh? I guess my parents decided to go even, three girls and three boys.

      And your welcome!

      Love,
