Change of Plans

Beautiful sisters are the best! Inside and out, to be sappy.
The wind rises and falls like the ocean, never ceasing, behind me. Growing into howl, then slipping to a whisper. Darkness surounds me, and the sound of my fingers, rapping on the keys, is louder than the cry of the wind. I am nervous; My face, which is illuminated by the computer screen and the blackness that has swallowed the space beside me, does not make me comfortable. Wind shakes the windows, brushes the floors, and my mind conjures up thieves and robbers with pointed knives and equally pointed smiles, stomping around and banging windows. They are waiting for the right time to attack me. Creeping up slowly. I feel their pointed stares. Pointed, they are. Nothing but points, waiting to stab me.

But no, I came here to tell you a story, not to be disolved by fears.

There was this girl, a foolish, stupid girl, who planned out her summer. It was going to be a brilliant summer, with all the siblings who returned from their respectives colleges, in spirit and body. They were going to play loud, jolly tunes as the drove down an early morning highway. They would spend loads of time at the beach, and catch waves, and most of all... Enjoy each others' company.

But unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, plans to not always go as, well, planned. This daft girl and her sisters, ended up going to help their grandparents in Oahu.  Which was a surprise even to them.  They barely had time to say hello to their brother who had just returned from said Oahu.

At first this girl was upset, her plans were ruined, nothing would be the same. They would have an awful time in Oahu.

But thankfully, that did not go as she planned either. Almost as soon as she arrived she was drawn back into the enchantment of her grandparents' house. The wind, the sunny skies, the little treasures everywhere around the house. The warm homemade bread every morning and nooks and crannies to slip into.  And most of all, her grandparents.

So, even though she did not think anything would be the same, that was a good thing. Because God does work everything out for our good.

And maybe the summer plans were not totally ruined.

P.S. I'm so sorry for not commenting, or even being alive on blogger. As I said earlier, I have been temporally, spontaneously, vacationed on Oahu. I will be back by the start of next month, though, so look for me then. "look for me by moonlight, watch for me by moonlight, I'll come to thee by moonlight". (random quotes that make me think of Anne of Green Gables.)
And love you guys!

So, go and take random pictures of people at the airport!
